Welcome to a brand new season of Illinois Cross Country! Although the smallest division of cross country in Illinois, 1A is full of historic programs competing for trophies every year.
The cross country faithful could not have asked for a better day for watching a cross country race. It was just a glorious day at Detweiller Park in Peoria, Illinois with the sun shining and an early fall temperature high of 70 degrees when the last race went off at 1:40 pm.
It is expected to be 69 degrees, breezy with periods of sun when mid-day strikes upon historic Detweiller Park in Peoria this Saturday for the First To The Finish Invitational.
This is just a sneak peek to get you up, out of your seat and excited for the upcoming cross country season which promises to be another great one!

We could not ask for a better day at beautiful Detweiller Park in Peoria. Sunny and 60 degrees with some showers the night before to soften the ground a bit is as ideal as it could get. That said, although 1A is obviously not the fastest division in Illinois, expect some already intense competition really get a boost in times from the weather.
