Tatum David proved to be the best overall distance runner at the IL State Championship
2022 was another record breaking season for statewide performances, particularly in the 2A and 3A classifications. In addition to a bevy of 800m meter performances under 2:15.00, there were 23 sub-5:00 1600m marks- the most ever in one season.
For the first time in state history, there were three performers under 10:20 in the state championship. Tatum David, Elia-Ton That, and Mary Grace Hegberg cracked the 10:15 barrier in the 2A final.
2023 promises to be more of the same with Tatum, Ali Ince, and Grace Schager returning.
