Many of last year's outstanding freshmen class are excelling
during the 2023 outdoor season. Let's take a look at a strong segment of athletes.
Barrington's Scout Storms is leading 3200 and 1600 meter
runs respectively at 10:35.08 and 4:54.98- they are sixth and fourth overall.
It is fair to say that Storms competes at a level that pits her among the top
three. She recently won the Distance Night in Palatine mile against a very
strong field.
Dominique Johnson has performed at a high level for since
her inception in high school. She recently completed the indoor season co- IL#1
in the triple jump with her older sister Alex Johnson. Dominique is a
consistent 40-foot plus jumper who currently ranks second overall in the state
with a 40-0.25.
Another high performing field event specialist is Audrey
Phillips of El Paso-Gridley. She enjoyed a fantastic indoor season that
culminated in a gold medal performance in the high jump at the Illinois Top
