This is unofficially the second week of girls' competition that dotted the Chicagoland and more. We will start with action from the Arcadia Invitational in California.
Annika Swan took her distance talents to sunny southern California. She had two choices: the invite 2 mile and the invite 1 mile. She chose the mile. As expected, Swan was in the mix late in the competition with some of the nation's best. She would eventually finish 9th in 4:46.85. Her 1600m en route was 4:44.95--the 6th fastest time in state history!
"Sunny" Weber would not be denied! She made her first invitational appearance in the elite 2-mile. It was one for the record books and one that will not be forgotten for a long time.
