2023 MileSplit IL Team Power Rankings-Week 1


2A Boys


1.     Cahokia Are the Comanches back? Chase Crawford is top five in the nation for the shot put and leads the state (63-3.5). Fresh off the state wrestling mat Nicholas Deloach leads the class in the long and triple jumps while contributing in the high jump. Jo'Viano Howard is second-best in the high jump and long jump. Keyshawn Lyons is second-best in the hurdles. 

2.     Mt. Zion The relays are strong (4x400 & 4x800m) along with Julian Baker in the 800 and 1600m. Kyle Hensley is second-ranked in 2A pole vault. Jacob Harvey (long jump) and Sam Atkinson (800m) helps the case for the Indians.

3.     East St. Louis The Eastside is leading the state in the 4x400m (3:29) and second in the class for the 4x200m. Demaryln Taylor leads 2A in the 60H.

4.     Kankakee Sr. It's Jayon Morrow, he leads the state in the 400m, and second in the 200m. He has improved his 60m, same for teammate Tyrice Bender in the 200m. 

5.     Chicago Heights (Marian) Braydon Waller is the overall state leader in the 60m and second in the 200m. Michael VanHootegem contributes in the 400m and 60H. The 4x200 relay is a threat too. 

6.     Marion It's Sean Hudspath leading the class in the 800m. Hayden Lees (400m) and Maurice Marvin (Shot Put) contribute as well. 

7.     Chicago (DePaul College Prep)Charlie Richardson provides firepower in the distances along with Mac Kittrell and Bryan Malkowski

8.     Lake Villa (Lakes)  Paul Migas is one of the nation's best long jumpers. Payton Whitehead is second in the class at 800m. 

9.     Mt. Vernon Fischer Davis is second in the class in the high jump. The 4x200 and 4x800m relays are contributors. 

10.   Chicago (Payton) The Grizzlies lead the class in the 4x800m while contributing in the 4x400m. Evan Rainville is second in the class at 400m.
