2023 MileSplit IL Team Power Rankings-Week 1

3A Girls

1.    Chicago (Kenwood) The speedy Broncos sit atop the first rankings. The culprit here is Asia Thomas who leads the state in three events. She is also a major piece on the second-ranked 4x400. Senior Jaliyah Shepherd brings speed to the table in the 60 and 200m.

2.    Homewood-Flossmoor Ana-Liese Torian's full indoor debut has produced a class-leading 60H time and second-ranked 200m. Angela Alozie is one of the top quarter milers and an integral part of the state-leading 4x400m.

3.    Huntley Alex Johnson is off to a good start as the state's second-ranked long and triple-jumper. Sophie Amin has emerged as a hurdle threat and a part of their 4x200m. Breanna Burak offers some non-speed points in the 1600m. This team could add more firepower over the next few weeks.

4.    Mt Prospect (Prospect) The traditional distance power has flexed in the speed events early on. Charlotte Dienes is a 200m and long jump threat. Look for more events to contribute here in the coming weeks.

5.   Elmhurst (York) So far it is the sprint relays carrying the squad led by the current second-fastest 4x200 in Illinois. Bria Dennis in the long distances contributes with Brooke Berger in the 800m.

6.     Crystal Lake (Prairie Ridge) A big load is carried by Rylee Lydon, the state leader in the long jump. Lydon has the second-best high jump performance as well. Rachel Soukup is an early contributor in the 3200m.

7.    Barrington Scout Storms is strong in the long distances, Sofiabella Amirante is within the top five in the shot put.

8.    Naperville Central The class leader in the pole vault is Kait McHale, Brooke Sawatzky is a dual jumps threat. Be on the lookout for Liv Phillips and Addison George

9.    Chicago (St. Ignatius) State leading 4x800m and Annika Swan gets it done.

10.  Frankfort (Lincoln-Way East) Texas import Asha Pierre-Antoine is a multi-jump threat to pair with vaulter Jaiden Knoop. The Griffins 4x800m is currently a contributing unit.
