It was a day of firsts for Yorkville this past Saturday. Both our boys and girls teams won state titles for 2A! For the girls it was a 3-peat, and for the boys it was the first XC state title in school history.

Well its finally here ladies and gentlemen… the culmination of a five month endeavor will finally be concluded this Saturday at Detweiller Park in Peoria. Yes that’s right, IT IS STATE TIME! State is so much more than just a race, it’s basically a week of fun.
This past weekend, the single greatest picture in the history of all pictures was taken. This one picture, will soon be framed poster size in my room because it is that amazing. What is this masterpiece you ask?
Hello everyone! This week we competed at the Palatine Invite for the first time and it was quite an experience. It took three tries to get the girls varsity race going but after two restarts we finally managed to begin the race.
Hello and happy first week of fall. The weather is finally starting to cool off and I’m hoping it stays this way! I’ve got a lot to write about this week so here we go.
Hello Eveyone! This week I thought I’d mix it up a little and talk about how I started running and how I have progressed as a runner since then.
It was a pretty normal week here in Yorkville. We started the week off with a hard 12 miler on Labor Day. Then on Wednesday we all suffered through rough 800 workout, but came back on Friday to redeem ourselves with a successful tempo workout. The majority of our team headed to Seneca on Friday for the Seneca Invite, but most of our varsity group stayed back for the tempo workout. I can’t say I’m not jealous of them getting to run a meet, but I guess it will just make Saturday that much more exciting. After reading all of the meet reviews from this past weekend I am more impatient than ever to race!
Hi everyone! Sorry I haven’t posted in a while, it has been very, very, very busy with school starting and all the homework being piled on us. Between school, homework and practice I’ve got quite enough to keep me busy. Even with the usual end of summer depression, the past few weeks have been some of the best yet.
Hi, I’m Skyler Bollinger and I’m a sophomore at Yorkville high school. This season I am very excited and thankful to be blogging for MileSplit about my experiences every week. So here’s a little about my team and I. Last season, I finished 5th individually at state and my team took home the 2A team title for the second year in a row. I couldn’t be more excited about the upcoming season and all the fun and excitement that will come with it!
