This is another great year of track and field in Illinois coming to a conclusion in Charleston on the nine-lane blue track at Eastern Illinois University from Thursday, May 25 to Saturday, May 27th.

But, it wasn't 'just another' great year of the track and field this year contained the best overall set of performances on the boys' side since the pandemic, with remarkable performances making national leaderboards in pretty much every discipline.

Distance runners like Ethan Hogan and Dan Watcke, sprinters like Jackson Gilbert, Daniel Lacy, Brayden Waller, and Jayon Morrow, relays like Hinsdale Central, Homewood-Flossmoor and Edwardsville, throwers like Tyler Michelini, Garrett Taylor, and Alex Sohn, jumpers like Mason Kooi... and that's not even to mention the historic set of boys' Pole Vaulters this year! This season has been a one-of-a-kind display of power for the Boys.

But never will it be as concentrated in one location as it will be this coming weekend, and the comprehensive coverage that the MileSplit team will offer you will document it every step of the way. From Livestream to photos, archived race footage to live tweets, meet preview shows to recap articles, we will cover the 30% of the earth that water doesn't cover.

The defending champions are Salt Fork, Kankakee, and Batavia. There looks to be some turnover in the team trophies so with the door open to new champions, which squads can take advantage? We preview each of the three state meets here.
