2024 Indoor Sprint Preview: Can Anyone Stop Katelyn Lehnen?

The 60-meter High Hurdles are in development mode during the season, but keep a close watch on Chicago Public League rivals Simone Bernard and Jordan Hamb, representing Whitney Young and South Shore International Prep. They were the only two under 9.00.

Daisha Brunson (So., Hoffman Estates) spent the preseason working on her flat speed, but she is a strong hurdler. She is also the top returner in the state at 8.94.

Sophie Amin (Sr., Huntley) should be back from an injury that took her out of last year's postseason.

Kiara Wesseh (Sr., Newmark) is a multi-talented athlete who is back to show out on the hurdles. Look for a mark under 8.90

Key athletes to watch: Mauricia Harris (Sr., South Holland Thornwood), Kyra Hayden (Jr., Frankfort Lincoln-Way East), Kyla Motley (Jr., Palos Heights Shepard), Amy Carhee (Jr., Schaumburg), Nickiya Shields (Jr., Danville), Aisha Kazeem (Jr., Palatine), Lia Patterson (Jr., Tuscola)
