Girls: #5 Prospect slips past #19 Glenbrook North 50-57. The Knights won without top runner Veronica Znajda (Sr); Josie Cahill (Sr., New Trier) avenges the loss to Stella Davis (Sr., Evanston), who won the CSL championship a week ago. Cahill goes 17:57 and is the only one under 18:00.
Boys: Joe Bregenzer (Sr., Barrington) continues his hot streak, runs another personal best (14:22), and wins by 14 seconds. #8 Lake Zurich puts five runners inside the top 20 and scores 44 points for the win.
Girls: #2 Barrington scored a perfect 15 points and routed #14 Lake Zurich, who scored 63. Mia Sirois (So.) sets a school record with a sizzling IL#116:10. Five fillies were under 17:50.
Boys: Rory Gaan (Sr., Palatine Fremd) may have run his best race of the season in 14:47. The #6 Vikings tied cross-town rival #5 Palatine 47-47 but won on the sixth-man tiebreak.
Girls: #15 Hersey uses 1-2 scorers, including the winner, sophomore Alexa Izenstark (17:53). The Huskies win with 45 points.
Boys: On the campus of Lockport HS, Lincoln-Way Central seniors Braden Hoff and Jack Galminas go 1-2 at 15:07 and 15:13, respectively. It was not enough to beat #2 Plainfield North, who sat out its top two runners, Thomas Czerwinski (Jr) and Quinn Davis (Sr). The Cats used a 23-second scoring split to tally 37 points.
Girls: #11 Plainfield North scores the first three runners in Elsie Czarniewski (Sr), Marlie Czarniewski (So), and Tessa Russo (Jr)- 18:00, 18:11, and 18:29. The Tigers score 31 points for the easy win over Lockport.
Boys: Nathaniel Gabriel (So., Joliet Central) wins his first regional title in 15:06 PR; #4 Plainfield South w/o Dylan Maloney (Sr) takes the title w/52 points.
Girls: Maya Ledesma (Sr., Minooka) cruises to victory in 16:58; #7 Minooka puts five scorers among the top 10 and scores 23 points.
Boys: Brayden Kloeppel (Jr., O'Fallon) takes home the victory in 15:25; #3 Edwardsville puts on a clinic, going 3-8 and finishing with 23 points.
Girls: Peyton Kuhl (Fr., Quincy) earns the gold medal in 18:11. Madison Popelar (Jr) led #12 Edwardsville with a second-place finish and 33 points.
Boys: Liam O'Connor (Sr., Oak Park-River Forest) pulls away from the field before the second mile and wins in 15:08. #11 York puts four runners in the top 10, defeating #17 Chicago Lane Tech 31-59.
Girls: #3 York uses freshman star Karlin Janowski's win (17:31) as a springboard for three other Lady Dukes in the top five and defeat #24 Lane Tech 23-79. The Champions beat Maine South (79) on a tiebreaker.
Boys: On a 2.88-mile course, Josiah Narayanan (Sr., Wheaton-Warrenville South) bounces back from a tough outing at the Dukane Conference and wins in 14:34. #22 WWS takes home the title w/63 points.
Girls: Maddie Romaine follows up a strong conference performance with her first regional title in 17:10. #13 Wheaton South takes the victory w/68 points.
Boys: Jacob Barraza (Sr., Dekalb) nips Tommy Nitz (Sr., Huntley) for the title. Both runners clocked 15:23; #7 Batavia had five scorers in the top 15 and seven inside the top 20 for 36 points.
Girls: Four of the first five finishers were from Batavia, led by Avery Hacker (So). The winning time was 17:58. The #6 Broncos scored 24 points.
Boys: Patrick Cune (Sr., Naperville Central) took the victory in 15:12. #13 Neuqua Valley wins another regional title, scoring 40 points.
Girls: Emma Berres (Sr) and Shania Tandon (Jr) finish first and second for #4 Naperville North in 18:00 and 18:19. The Huskies would go on to win easily with 34 points.
Boys: A reconstructed Katherine Legge Memorial Park course has been reduced to 2.9 miles. Santiago Chavez (So., Reavis) motors 14:40 for the victory. #12 Sandburg put six runners in the top 15 and scored 36 points for the win.
Girls: Annika Trehan (So., Sandburg) wins in 18:15; #25 Hinsdale Central scores 28 points for the win.
Boys: Miguel Flores (So., Morton) wins the 5000m in 15:43. Top-ranked Downers Grove North rests its top three runners and falls to #10 Lyons Township 53-57.
Girls: Amelie Ojeda (Sr., Willowbrook) shows significant growth from a year ago, with her first regional title in 17:53. #1 Downers North put the next four runners after Ojeda, and the rest finished in the top 10. The total point tally was 21.
