We chronicled how well the boys performed in the relays in 2024. Guess what? The girls were just as marvelous as their counterparts. Ride with us as we take a deep dive into the numbers. 


Coming into May, Chicago Whitney Young ran one of the fastest times in the 4x100m relay. The Dolphins clocked 46.42 at the Chicago Public League Championships, earning them a top 50 mark nationally. As good as the Dolphins performed, unfortunately, they were not the 3A state champions. That honor went to Huntley, who roared home in a sizzling school record 46.60. Four teams cracked 47.00, the most in a single season. Plainfield North and O'Fallon just missed the threshold. 

The 4x200 was just as impressive as the 4x1, if not more impressive. Five teams were under 1:40, the most in one season per IHSA annals. Added depth showed nine teams under 1:41 and 16 under 1:42....
