The fast and furious scene from last year's 3A Illinois Top Times 60m final

.------------

There will be a slightly different look in this speed category after the graduation of 8 of the top 10. Gone are sub 6.90 performers Braydon Waller (Chicago Heights Marian), Nathan Hippard (Mascoutah), and Daniel Lacy (Champaign Centennial).

Enter some of the performers who broke the seven-second barrier. Don't expect some of the following to produce dividends until late into the indoor season. Jayon Morrow is one name who excelled in the short sprint at some point during the season.

Chris Nelson is more of an outdoor speedster but got a few solid marks on the register.

Austin Rowswell competed in a limited schedule last year but grabbed the Illinois Prep Top Times title.

The early bird speedster to watch was Supreme Muhammad of Winnebago, who clocked 6.85 and 6.92 during December. It will be interesting to see how fast he can roll in January, February, and March.
