Breakdown: Last year's shortened season might have been an anomaly because of Covid-19 but there were many quality performances. Now that we return back to a full slate, look for this event to really stand out.
Prospect returns all four legs from last year's dominating state championship performance. In particular, the Ginsberg sisters (Audrey Ginsberg and Lily Ginsberg) pack plenty of star power and maybe hold some individual all-state 800 notion as well.
York finished the season with the 6th-best 4x800 time in the state, but this group clearly made strides during their cross country season and a strong argument can be made for them as state favorites. A team to watch is Grayslake Central. This team was in a distant fourth in the 3A state meet, but return each athlete including 2:12 anchor Bella Domier. If the Rams are in contention on a final leg, Domier will be difficult to beat.
