FULL RETURNERS LIST

------------------------
Five of the top ten runners are back, but it will take a collective effort to achieve the level of excellence that the event has enjoyed over the past dozen years. Who will be the standout person this winter and into the early spring?

Joshua Hill (Sr., Crete-Monee): Performed in only three competitions last year but not the Illinois Top Times. His 47'5.75" was the second-best effort in the state- two of the three contests were over 46 feet. Hill would finish the 2024 calendar with a bronze medal in the outdoor state championship. It certainly appears that 48 feet, or maybe 49 feet, are in the cards. Stay tuned.

Azuriah Sylvester (Sr., West Aurora): The Blackhawks program has a rich history in the jumps, and the triple jump is no exception. Sylvester is near the top of the school record charts, just below the legendary Davion Cross, who placed second in the state meet in 2017.

Kwabena Osei-Yeboah (Sr., Oak Park-River Forest): The reigning state long jump champion is just getting started in his secondary event. It is a matter of staying consistent. For example, he did not medal at the state meet but earned All-American honors at the talent rich AAU National Championships.

Shamond McClain (Sr., E. St. Louis Sr.): Adding McClain here despite his indoor marks not being overly impressive. He appeared to take the outdoor season more seriously, placing second in the state meet. He could be a 47-footer by the end of the indoor season.

Jack Andersen (Jr., Rolling Meadows): One of the top sophomores in the country a year ago (#9), this kid will be someone to watch out for. He nearly cleared the 46-foot mark, which is a great feat. The 2025 season is off to a great start.

Victreze Thomas (Jr., Cahokia): Right behind Andersen last year in the rankings but never competed against one another. Hopefully, we will see a clash of two of the best jumpers in the state.
