One of the fastest races in the state occurred last year at the Lakes at the Colosseum Clash

FULL RETURNING LIST
---------------------
This indoor season may again be more of a smoke screen for the outdoor season. Of the top 10 returners, only two are considered full event specialists. On top of that, it appeared that many of the primary returners competed in off events or relays, and later concentrated on the half-mile during the outdoor season.
Nolan Lamoureux (Sr., Lockport): Super talented long sprinter who ran a fast 600m (1:21) that he dabbled in the half-mile and parlayed a 1:54 last summer. Lamoureux is still considered a novice because he has one foot in the event. Even though the 400 is his bread and butter, placing third in 48.39, the 800 may be his main event at the next level. Hopefully, Lamoureux will race here more than a few times and show and prove.
Owen Horeni (Jr., Yorkville): Let's get something straight right now. A volcano is ready to erupt here. Forget the 1:57.63 that he ran last indoor season, something major will pop off, especially considering the 600m (1:21.19) ran at the Misfits Invite translates to sub 1:53 right now. When a seismic explosion occurs, remember you were warned ahead of time.
Patrick Clune (Sr., Naperville Central): Emerging into another middle-distance runner for the Redhawks, Clune could be a school record-setter by the end of the indoor season.
Carter Hayes (Sr., Palatine): Did not compete very much last indoor and did not run in a single 800m. However, we are inclined to think that will change this winter. Hayes, after all, proved to be one of the best half-milers in the state, earning all-state honors with a 9th-place finish in 1:53.58.
Jackson Hopkins (Sr., Crystal Lake Central): Jackson who? His name would not pop up even if we went 100 deep for returning indoor rankings. He ran a measly 2:10.57 in his only race of the indoor campaign. He is on the radar because of the meteoric rise at the end of the school season that netted a sizzling 1:53.61. It wasn't a one-race wonder either. A succession of 1:55 or better performances lends hope to what will come this winter.
Darris Ivy (Sr., E. St. Louis Sr.): The Flyers coaches had a plan: to not run Ivy indoors in his favorite event. Instead, he concentrated on the 400 and relays. The data we collected was a state runner-up in 2A (1:53.79) and later an All-American medal in the AAU Championship during the summer.
