2023 MileSplit IL Team Power Rankings-Week 2


2A Boys

1. Cahokia- The Comanches have major heat at this point, the field event stars have arrived. Chase Crawford (SP) and Lorenzo Johnson-Cutler are overall state leaders, Nicholas DeLoach leads the class in the long jump, and Jo'Viano Howard is a high and long jump threat. 

2. Mt. Zion-The long relays are big threats, Sam Atkinson holds down the middle distance, with Kyle Hensley in the pole vault ( 2A #2).

3. East St. Louis- The 4x400 is among the state leaders as is the 4x200 which leads the class. Demarlynn Taylor times are dropping. 

4. Kankakee Sr. - Jayon Morrow is Chief Kay. Help is on the way.

5. Mascoutah- The Indians roll out Nathan Hippard in the sprints and Allen Middleton in the long and triple jump. The 4x800 will rise some more. 

6. Chicago (DePaul College Prep)- Distance city, the reigning 1A cross country state champions can attack with Mac Kittrell and Charlie Richardson. The Rams offer some speed too with the 4x200m and Matthew Russette in the 200m.

7. Chicago Heights (Marian)- The speed of Braydon Waller holds strong, while Michael VanHootegem remains a versatile threat. 

8. Chicago (Payton)- The Grizzlies' long relays offer some juice led by the class-leading 4x800m. Evan Rainville is a 400m threat (2A #2).

9. Bethalto (Civic Memorial)Jackson Collman is second in 3200m, and the Eagles' 4x800m is second-ranked in 2A currently. 

10. Mt. Vernon-The Rams can be effective in all three relays. Judd Hicks (400m) and Fischer Davis (HJ) are individual threats.
