The IHSA post-season is in full force now! The first round of the state series known as the regionals commenced this past weekend and the usual suspects made it onto the sectional round. Things will begin to get interesting as the intense state qualifying round begins.
The nationally-ranked Ava Parekh holds her position at the top of the food chain for the seventh week in a row. Josie Welin Welin should now be considered the 3A favorite heading into Peoria the following weekend. There is only one Class A girl in the charts and that is Elena Rybak. She has only lost once this year. Juliet Frum was able to crack this elite group for the first time this season!
* Three miles is the official distance recognized by the IHSA as well as any other distances from 2.75 to 5K can be recorded. We also will use these to determine our weekly rankings.
