GOOD ATHLETES JUST DON'T WIN AWARDS, THEY NEED ASSISTANCE FROM THEIR SUPPORTERS
----------------------
Two seasons ago Chicago Taft senior Lucas Guidone was a part-time distance runner, splitting time between cross country and baseball. High School students are encouraged to be multi-sport athletes, especially in their developmental years. However, after Guidone began to show promise during the 2019 track season after running 2:00.61. Now, after running a big personal best of 15:12 against some solid competition, Guidone is coming into his own and could be the guy to beat in the CPL.
This was the most active voting participation in two seasons as over 1300 votes cast. Guidone won 40% of the votes (527) to narrowly defeat Nicolas Dovalovsky of Neuqua Valley who took 501 tallies.
Congrats to Lucas on his great award!
