-It was a great week from Lincoln-Way East and Homewood-Flossmoor. First, the Griffins showed out during their mid-week action at the North Central College HS Invite. Team leader and star Mariam Azeez got busy in the 55, 200, and long jump. She followed along with teammate and fellow senior Sophia Barnard linked up to overpower their opponents in the DGS Mustang Relays.
Not to be outdone was the Lady Vikings who visited Lakes HS's new digs and dropped some fire. Senior Alexandria Edison ran a personal best as well as a state-leading 56.26 400m. She also won the 200. Teammate junior Angela Alozie got in the act as well with a 57.99 PB.
Huntley moves up in the rankings on the strength of the Johnson sisters junior Alex Johnson and freshman Dominique Johnson who are 1-2 in the state in the triple jump.
