I believe that developing a coaching philosophy is essential to becoming a better coach. Developing a set of objectives and beliefs that help you achieve those objects is what leads to being a better coach.

Last month, my father, Ray Vandersteen, passed away from complications associated with Parkinson’s disease and diabetes.  His passing brought about much reflection regarding the impact he had on us all, family and friends alike  I truly admired my father for his high level of integrity, his humility, and, most of all, his mission to promote our sport.

I want to start off by thanking my friend and mentor, Tony Jones, for giving me this opportunity to share a piece of myself with you all.  Let me start with a brief introduction about myself.
My name is Jeffery Bryant. I am the Lane Tech Girls Track Middle Distance Coach and Assistant Cross Country Coach. This means I basically coach any event from the 400m dash to the 3200m run. I am a former Lane Track Athlete so I am proud to be in a position to give back to my school.
