Several weeks ago on the Toeing the Line podcast, we were joined by Neuqua Valley Head Coach Paul Vandersteen. We had a great conversation about his terrific sophomore Nicholas Dovalovsky and how he was his teams "super sophomore." Vandersteen talked about how every year it seems like when you look at the state meet results the winning team almost always has that "super sophomore." With some thinking and research on the theory, we found this to be factual on occasion.
