This week's nominees:
Rayna Raglin (Sr., Alton)- Set two state-leading marks: 60m (7.42) and 200m (23.61) at the Illinois Indoor Championships. The latter shattered the all-time record and is the 16th-fastest in the country.
Polina Krupsky (Sr., Lake Zurich)- The state leader in the 800m kicked things off in the IIC 4x800, setting the pace for her Lady Bears with a 2:13.89 (FAT split), en route to winning in an IL#2 9:21.55. Krupsky returned several hours later in the open 800m against a field of fresh leg competitors, defeating them all, in a meet record 2:11.53.
Karen Boakye (Sr., Downers Grove South)- Produced a wonderful series in the triple jump at IIC, all legal marks over 38'5" en route to a huge victory, setting for an IL#3/US#30 and the best mark of the championship merge weekend, 39'10."
Annika Swan (Sr., Chicago St. Ignatius)- Back in top form, ran away from a deep IIC 1600m field, and held on to win in 4:50.27 (IL#2/US#14).
Kennedy Ruff (Sr., Darien Hinsdale South)- Won the IIC 400m title out of a slower section (55.72), which turned into a personal best and state-leading time.
Jordan Dimke (Sr., Rockton Hononegah)- Won the high jump crown with a weekend-leading 5'7.75" mark at the IIC.
