This Week's Nominees:
Kara Glenn, St. Charles (North) (Illinois): Swept the distance events at the IHSA Class 3A TRG Sectional - #4 Hoffman Estates, winning the 1600 in 4:46.80 and the 800 in 2:09.97 before placing second in the 3200 in 11:11.84. The top-ranked sophomore in the state in both the 1600 and 800, she also sits third among sophomores in the 3200.
Rayna Raglin, Alton (Sr.) (Illinois): Won the 100 and 200 at the IHSA Class 3A TRG Sectional - #11 O'Fallon, clocking 11.40 and 23.48 while defeating state-ranked Joanna Anoke of Edwardsville in both events. She added a third-place finish in the 400 in 55.62 to complete a strong sectional performance.
Sophia Shapiro, Edwardsville (Illinois): Dominated both hurdles events at the IHSA Class 3A TRG Sectional - #11 O'Fallon, winning the 100m hurdles in 13.47 and the 300m hurdles in 42.87. She's the top-ranked junior in Illinois in both hurdles events.
Klara Volkova, Roselle (Lake Park) (Illinois): Threw a meet-winning 152-10.5 in the discus at the IHSA Class 3A TRG Sectional - #4 Hoffman Estates, the top mark among this week's competitors. She also won the shot put with a throw of 37-6.25.
Joanna Anoke, Edwardsville (Illinois): Posted times of 24.04 in the 200 and 11.88 in the 100 at the IHSA Class 3A TRG Sectional - #11 O'Fallon, finishing second in the 200. The #2 sophomore in Illinois in both sprints, she competed head-to-head with senior Rayna Raglin in both events.
