------------------

The 2025 indoor track season started in Illinois in early December with all-comers and club association meets. So far, a few notables have participated.

Last year's state leader, Supreme Muhammad, has graduated and moved on to college. So there is there room for more chefs in the kitchen. There are six dashers under 7.00 and five more under 7.02 back on the scene.

Let's take a look at some of those key figures.

Daniel Robinson (Jr., Naperville Neuqua Valley) has been on a rampage during this early portion of the club indoor season, running a state-best 6.98 and just off his all-time best 6.93. This could be a redemption tour for the state's top returner, as he did not reach his full potential.

Harley Rizzs (Sr., Burbank St. Laurence) matches Robinson with the top returning time of 6.93. Rizzs proved that he started fast and held his technique in a short race, and he proved well outdoors as he won the 2A 100m title. Rizzs also had a hand in his team's 4x100m relay state championship.

Amari Alexander (Sr., Darien Hinsdale South) was one of the big surprises last winter. He competed in mostly 55m dashes until the Illinois Top Times, where he won the 3A title in 6.94. Alexander ran the Century in 10.61 and took seventh in the state meet.

Vinny Costa (Sr., Huntley) got lathered up during a lengthy indoor season last year, resulting in a 6.96 best. Costa placed fourth at ITT.
