Plainfield Central Regional

Boys: #2 Plainfield South rested its top four runners; #3 Plainfield North go 1,2,3 on the strength of sophomore Thomas Czerwinski's win in 15:01. The final tally for the Tigers was 27 points.

Girls: Tessa Russo (So., Plainfield North) 18:03 wins but #7 Yorkville prevails by one point over Oswego East and Plainfield North with 55 points.


Alton Regional

Boys: #4 O'Fallon produced a perfect score by taking the first spots en route to a 15-point performance. Dylan Ybarra (Sr.) led the way with a time of 15:13.

Girls: Normal West got the first two spots with sophomores Julie Bach and Renee Warren, who ran 18:28 and 18:34. But it was #13 Edwardsville that won the team title 49-60.


Oak Park-River Forest Regional I VIDEOS

Boys: #9 Oak Park-River Forest wins their regional, scoring 60 points; Mohamed Abdullahi (Sr., Chicago Mather) takes charge of the race inside the final quarter-mile to win in 14:48.

Girls: #1 York cruises to victory with 17 points. The Lady Dukes put all five scorers inside the top six and all seven runners inside the top 15. Senior "Maggie" Margaret Owens takes the win for her beloved York Dukes in 17:25.

St. Charles East Regional

Boys: Juniors Josiah Narayanan and Aiden Noel go 1-2 for #11 Wheaton-Warrenville South won with 50 points.

Girls: Nicole Poglitsch (Jr., Wheaton-Warrenville South); #8 Wheaton North takes team title with 50 points.


Hampshire Regional

Boys: Tommy Nitz (Jr., Huntley) won by 12 seconds with a time of 15:28; South Elgin won the team title w/63 points.

Girls: Haley Rahman (Fr., Huntley) ran 18:58 for the individual title; #15 Huntley scored 34 points for the win.


Wilmette (Loyola Academy) Regional

Boys: New Trier tallied 39 points to win the regional. Ben Crane (Jr.) runs 15:13 for the easy win.

Girls: Maria Polyakov (Jr., Glenbrook North) rolls 18:20 for the win. #2 Prospect ran a semi-loaded roster and still won comfortably w/37 points.


Palatine Regional

Boys: #6 Hersey produced a 1:00 scoring split en route to a 51 point performing win; Rory Gaan (Jr., Palatine Fremd) is the individual winner in 15:06.

Girls: #11 Hersey put the first three runners across the finish line in winning with 24 points. The Huskies' Margaretha Grabske (Jr.) took the win in 17:55.


Fox Lake (Grant) Regional

Boys: #22 Deerfield scores 47 points in defeating Barrington, who ran without several of their top runners; Charles Blackmer (Sr., Vernon Hills) takes the win in 15:37

Girls: Scout Storms (Jr., Barrington) bounces back from Illness at the MSL Championship to beat a solid runner Danielle Jensen (Sr., McHenry) by almost 20 seconds in a time of 17:33. The #3 Fillies put all five scorers in the top 10 and roll away with 27 points.


LaGrange (Lyons Twp) Regional

Boys: Philip Cupial (So.) and Ryan Eddington (Sr.) go 1-2 (15:43.5, 15:43.8- 5K) and lead #1 Downers Grove North to an easy win over Riverside-Brookfield 21-57.

Girls: #5 Downers Grove North takes away a regional title by putting all five scorers inside the top 10. The Trojans scored 25 points and were led by senior Sarah Paul's win in 18:57.


Chicago Marist Regional

Boys: On the 2.98 mile layout, #19 Sandburg scored 26 points on the strength of four scorers in the top six. Senior Grant Giblin was the champion, running 15:16.

Girls: #12 Sandburg did not have top runner Lindsey Gerhardstein (So.) but was still able to win the championship, scoring 34 points easily. Katie Roche (So., Sandburg) was the winner in 18:33.


Naperville North Regional I PHOTOS I VIDEOS

Boys: It was a thrilling finish between Zac Close (Sr., Naperville Neuqua Valley) and Josh Poeschel (Sr., Downers Grove South). Close took the shoestring victory 15:10.4-15:11.0; #14 Neuqua Valley won by 10 points, scoring 56 points.

Girls: Liv Phillips (Sr., Naperville Central) won her first regional title in slick and sloppy conditions with a time of 17:17; #4 Naperville North scored 29 points for the team title.
