Outlook: It's about to go down across state lines in "Cross Country Town USA!" For the boys, Illinois will deploy some heat on the competition. #2 Plainfield South is again ready to strut themselves on the Lavern Gibson layout. Last time out, the Cougars qualified for the NXN Championship. They return vital runners Camyn Viger (Sr) and Dylan Maloney (Jr). Also in attendance is #6 O'Fallon, who presents a stiff challenge for the entire field. The Panthers top runners are Dylan Ybarra (Sr) and Zach Thoman (Jr).
For the girls, defending champion #4 Prospect will be in the field as an underdog. The Knights return Veronica Znajda (Jr), Meg Peterson (So), and Lily Ginsberg (Sr). All three have the potential to place very high in the standings. Isabella Keller (Fr., Effingham St. Anthony) has been lighting up the cross country world in her introductory season. Let's see if she can bring home another gold medal.

Outlook: The third installment of the Peoria invites will be met with pleasant and unpleasant hostilities. The temperatures are expected to reach the 80s (real feel) by the time of the 2A/3A race, which will undoubtedly impact performances.
Boys- Dylon Nalley (Sr., Marion) stole the show several weekends ago at the Peoria Richard Spring Invitational when he clocked a sizzling 14:00.2. He is slated to compete in the Class A race in the morning and ahead of the heat and humility. It will be a rematch against Gavin Genisio (Sr., Benton). Both stallions met earlier this season in St. Louis, MO at the Forest Park XC Festival. It was no contest as Nalley won easily and set a meet record for the 5K. #1 and #2 Benton are the featured teams despite being in 1A. Dale Johnson (Sr., Sterling) won the 2A FTTF race earlier this month. Let's see if he can put up a fight against Nalley.
The 2A/3A field will be very competitive as several ranked teams look to duel again before heading to the postseason. #7 New Trier will battle against West Aurora and St. Charles East. It should be a close tilt among those schools. Ben Crane (Jr., New Trier) and Zac Close (Sr., Neuqua Valley) will be favorites in the 3A race.
Girls- 2A #1 Chatham-Glenwood will face off as the favorite in their face, while Edwardsville will look to win the 3A race. The state leader Kate Foltz (So., Tuscola) is the state leader, and she will be racing in the 1A/2A race.
