RESULTS

Boys summary: Tuscola put three runners in the top five including juniors Josiah Hortin and Jackson Barrett finishing 1-2 in 15:00 (2.95 miles). The Indians could not win the team title over #3 Decatur St. Teresa who scored 77 points.

Girls summary:  It was the surging Mabry Bruhn (Sr., Monticello) who defeated Molly Farrell (Fr., Marshall) 16:56-17:13, putting her in the driver's seat as perhaps the favorite in next weekend's state championship. #1 Unity took the title without any challenge, putting five scorers among the top 12 and the sixth runner was 15th overall.

Benton-

RESULTS 

Boys summary: Gavin Genisio (Jr., Benton) broke the 2.92 mile course record in 13:47 and avenged an early season loss to Isaac Teel (Jr., Pinckneyville). The hot Ethan Hogan (Jr., Columbia) was fourth in 14:51. #7 Benton won the team title scoring 38 points.

Girls summary: Ahry Comer (Jr., Pope County) repeats as sectional champion in 16:56. #8 Anna-Jonesboro nearly doubled up the point total over Breese (Mater Dei) 68-120 for the team crown.

Elgin (Harvest Christian Academy)

RESULTS I VIDEOS

Boys summary: Daniel Winkelman (Sr., Harvest Christian Academy) won a classic race against a field of strong competitors on his rugged home 5000m course in 16:05. The three-second win over Akili Parekh (Sr., Chicago Latin) enabled his team to beat #5 Latin 64-65. #2 Depaul Prep was fourth w/89 pts.

Girls summary: Anna Enderle (Sr., Chicago Christian) was a 15-second winner in 19:25. #3 Rosary took the win with 64 points.

Elmwood-

RESULTS

Boys summary: #1 Normal Community put five runners in the top 20 (41 pts) with junior Mitchell Hayes leading the way in second place. Eureka senior Charlie Bardwell beat Hayes by four seconds on his home layout in 15:33.

Girls summary: Louisa Wilson (So., Williamsville) was the only runner to dip under 18:00 (17:59). #14 Pleasant Plaines took out the favorite #2 Eureka 105-114.

Oregon- 

RESULTS I VIDEOS

Boys summary: #5 Riverdale dominated the team race with seniors Tommy Murray and Landis Musser go 1-2. The Rams scored a scant 33 points 

Girls summary: #6 Winnebago gets the win over 84-101. Freshman Sundara Weber of Sandwich is the champion in 18:40.
