This year's Lake Park Sectional is expected to be another great affair. We decided to travel in our time capsule back to 2017 to one of Lake Park's best sectionals. In it, #14 Glenbard West upset #3 Wheaton-Warrenville South in a hotly contested race. Glenbard West's Rory Cavan and Stephen Moody placed in the top five ahead of Sean Maison and William Hauenstein of Wheaton South. The Hilltoppers beat the Tigers with that better front-running talent.
Individually, Clayton Mendez of Chicago Whitney Young became the first Chicago Public League runner (male) to win a cross country sectional. He did so in a lightening 14:35.
