The 4x400 relay was soaked in natural spring rain and it put an end to a tough and challenging weekend
Charleston IL-
It was a tough weekend on the campus of Eastern Illinois University for many of the athletes, coaches, parents, and administrators. Track & Field enthusiasts had a tough time staying engaged in what was supposed to be the grandest time of the season. Scoreboard power outages were one thing, but for the second year in a row, the championship was delayed by weather. Mother Nature had been dumping unfavorable conditions all season long, so why not precipitation for the finals? The final outcome was a rain-soaked and soggy affair.
Despite all of the above, there were many incredible performances that will be embedded into the consciousness for a long time to come.
