The narrative: Geneseo head into the sectional round on a mission. They have the state's overall top high jumper in Annie Wirth who is capable of clearing 5-10 on a great day. She has just one loss so far. The Maple Leafs can score high-caliber points from all over the landscape in the relays, rating in the top two in three of them.
Will a team like Latin diversify its top athletes? Ava Parekh and Marianne Mihas are capable of setting state class records but that will more than likely not happen if they want a state trophy or even a first-place team plaque.
After an atrocious start to their season, it appears as though the Flyerettes are ready to roll. They come in with the fastest 4x2 relay and we all know they have an outstanding history in the 4x1 and 4x4. Freshman Sydney Jones is the leader in the sprint game. Her #2 position in 200m will come in handy in addition to the relays.
Senior Brooke Barkocy of Burlington Central is back! Barkocy earned all-state honors in the hurdles as a sophomore and she is now atop of the charts.
