The Top 5 Distance Girls To Watch During The Outdoor Season

Ava Parekh (Jr., Chicago Latin)

-If consistency counted in a numerical form, Parekh's rating would be 100%. She is a Grade A performer and has been since entering high school. Parekh of course is a great long-distance runner in the fall via cross country. However, she has built her tremendous resume first on the track. Remember the indoor national freshmen mile championship gold medal? Later, being one of the few girls to be linked to the legendary Katelynne Hart as an apprentice, has been a motivating factor. The times of late prove it:

Indoor '20 deuce- 10:29.49, outdoor '20 mile- 4:51.56; indoor '21 mile- 4:47.17, indoor two-mile- 10:15.96. It is very clear that these numbers have not only elevated Parekh to the top of the all-time state charts but also put her in the top-tier national elite status. The culmination was the ordination of the adidas indoor nationals mile crown in February.

It is going to be very interesting to see what Parekh does next during a full slate outdoor season. There is going to be a state meet as mentioned before along with several national-level competitive opportunities this summer. We will be watching with delight.
