You would be hard-pressed to find a deeper and a more complete boys cross country team in the state of Illinois than Orland Park (Sandburg). The Eagles led by Coach John O'Malley have been near the top of the charts for the past several years. This past spring the boys won their first state title on the track in the 4x800m relay running 7:42.03- the fastest time in the state and the 9th best mark in the country. The turnover from a great track season is expected to prove big dividends this fall in Cross Country. O'Malley brings back six of his top seven that placed second in the 3A state championship and 15th at the Nike Cross Nationals.
The ultra businessmen like Eagles were kind of enough to allow MileSplit Illinois to participate in an exciting Workout Wednesday session. It was a recovery day run followed by a bevy of strength training at a noted forest preserve in southwest suburban Palos, IL. Enjoy the video feature!
