The field events is where it is going to go down for the power teams attempting to establish a beachhead prior to the track finals. For those that come away with the least amount of cuts and scrapes will be looking good for a glorious day of track and field. A significant number of great athletes appear ready to assault the meet records and the transform the rankings by the end of the day.
Proviso West Boys 50th Annual Performance List
The sprint events for the first time in meet history will have at-large entries. Emerging superstar Kahmari Montgomery (Sr., Plainfield Central) and Scotty Miller (Sr., Barrington) will highlight the action on Saturday. In addition, the depth of each event will more than likely put serious strain on the current leaderboards.
No matter what you are doing at a track meet, whether it's taking a trip to the bathroom or concession stand or even vendor but it seems everyone gets in tune with a quality relay when it's announced. Suddenly there is a rush to get back to one's seat and watch the action.
As quiet as it was in January on the home front and all of the indoor track and field talk coming out of the east coast, now things have shifted.
