More than a week ago head meet managers Paul Swanson and David Shafron were furiously trying to put the finishing touches on the newly named Dan Horyn Invitational (formely Niles North Viking Relays). Specifically, Swanson was hoping for a respectable field and good weather. He got exactly what he wanted.

The former Niles North Boys Invitational is now the Dan Horyn Invitational. The once low-key invite that was held on a Tuesday in mid-April has been moved to a date more suitable for a traditional spotlight that many fans and athletes can appreciate.
