
Several Illinois high school track and field athletes recorded personal bests at meets held March 20-21.
Amilo Rajandram (Jr., Chicago Whitney Young) won the 3200 meters in 9:10.08 at the Chicago Public League Varsity Indoor Championships, improving from 9:38.93. The junior also ran 4:21.91 in the 1600 meters, bettering his previous mark of 4:22.37, and ranks #22 statewide in the latter.
Lena Lacy (Richton Park Southland College Prep) won the 55 meters in 7.52 at the Bloom Huey Johnson Memorial Invitational, improving from her previous best of 8.10 set in February. The freshman ranks #115 in Illinois and #6 among freshmen statewide.
Ryan Koprowski (So., Homewood-Flossmoor) threw 52-9.75 in the shot put for second place at the SWSC Indoor Boys Conference, bettering his previous mark of 46-8.75. The performance places him #75 in the state among 6,331 competitors.
Jayvion Maxon (Jr., El Paso-Gridley) cleared 6-5.50 to win the high jump at HOI Indoor, up from his previous best of 6-0.75. Maxon also ran 7.60 in the 60 meters, improving from 7.71, and ranks #52 statewide in the high jump.
Lydia Huffman (Fr., Waterloo) won the 3200 meters in 11:29.22 at the MTZ Final Qualifier, improving from 11:47.18 set in March. The freshman's time ranks #145 statewide and #4 among freshmen.
Owen Stoller (Sr., Eureka) cleared 14-11.75 to win the pole vault at HOI Indoor, breaking both his personal record of 14-0 and the school record. The senior ranks #26 in Illinois and #10 among seniors in the event.
