Eugene, OR-

Here is a quick rundown from Hayward Field on the University of Oregon campus.

Katelyn Lehnen completes a long journey on the track-

To say that standout Katelyn Lehnen (Jr., Chatham-Glenwood) had a very busy Friday is an understatement.

Lehnen started her journey competing in the Championship 100m, where she ran 11.95 (+1.1) to place 19th in the preliminaries and missed the finals.

Several hours later, Lehnen was back in the starting blocks for the Championship 400m final. She took her second in section five with a new personal best of 54.68 and a state-leading time. Overall, Lehnen took home the seventh-best time.

Lehnen polishes off an enduring day in the 200m prelims. She drops a top 100 time and a PB, now 23.85 (-0.6). She advances to the final on Saturday.

Emerging Elite Girls 100HH prelims: Brooke Sawatzky (Sr., Naperville Central) placed 14th with a time of 15.23.

EE400 Girls: Madalyn Marx (So., Mahomet-Seymour) ran 58.62 to finish 26th place.

G800: Emma Berres (Jr., Naperville North) ran one of her best season efforts, 2:13.31 for 38th place; Bella Domier (Sr., Grayslake Central) 2:15.51/57th place.

B800: Owen Horeni (So., Yorkville) placed 19th in a deep field with a time of 1:52.57.

EE200 prelims: Isabella Roundtree (So., Champaign Central) clocks 25.55 for 36th place.

B4x800: The event of the evening was right here. Downers Grove North was the 3A state champion, and Chicago Payton won the 2A division. They would compete with some of the best teams in the country. The winner takes all, and the top six earn All-American status.

Downers Grove North stayed very close in attack position through two legs. They still had their ace card in senior Ryan Eddington for the anchor. In the meantime, Payton was hanging on by a string for the top six.

The Trojans took charge in the second half, and Eddington brought home the gold at 7:40.71.

 The splits were 1:56.81, 1:55.10, 1:54.59, 1:54.24.

Payton copped the fifth spot with a time of 7:52.30.
