Whitney Young remains atop the
rankings in back to back weeks. A model of consistency these past few weeks,
the Lady Dolphins set their sights on securing a ninth consecutive conference
title this weekend.
Prospect is another model of consistency, the have been putting
hurt on the distance leaderboards on a weekly basis. The 4x800 is ranked top
ten in the nation, while stateside the two sprint relays are top contributors. Veronica
Znajda, Meg Peterson, & Lily Ginsberg are the distance triplets
with range from 800 to 3200m. Don't forget about Charlotte Deines or she fly
right by you.
Neuqua Valley's Zawadi Brown has
started lacrosse, but don't think she's going to fade away from the track. Her
teammates Olivia Dalson and Gabi Karvelis have
been jumping wild in the sand these past two weeks. Their conference meet is
this week, let's see what happens.
Huntley remains steady at four. Jumps, hurdles, and relays has
been their mode of attack thus far. Sophie Amin leads
the class in the 60H, while Dominique Johnson is top five in the nation for the triple jump.
Scout Storms and Mia Sirois are a dynamic duo is the distance events. Mia is the
state leader in the 3200m, a top three freshman in the nation. Scout Storms is
a dual threat on the oval. Sofiabella Amirante could be a
difference maker in the shot ring for the fast Fillies.
