The 2024 indoor track and field season is still in its infancy stage, but Deangelo Hughey has performed some noteworthy feats on the track as a member of the Vipers Track Club. The senior from Mahomet-Seymour HS may have had his best indoor performances this past weekend at the KYA HS Invitational hosted by Vanderbilt University.
Hughey competed in two events, but it was the 400m that was the one to watch. In the first section of 35, Hughey fought hard against two opponents, eventually taking second to a US#1 47.17 performance by Hudson Allain of Brentwood, Tennessee. Hughey crossed in 48.77.

Madalyn Marx (So., Mahomet-Seymour) enjoyed a pleasant experience on Vandy's 300m oval, taking second in the 400 PB 56.91.
Reece Curtis (Sr., St. Anne) took off and dropped his best ever indoor 400m performance, running 50.15.
