Outlook: It's been a while since top-ranked Downers Grove North hit the pavement at full strength. With the championship season on the horizon, look for the Trojans to come and prove why they will be the team to beat when the calendar changes to November. DGN produced an excellent 28-second scoring split and a 14:45 per man average en route to a 39-point talley. Led by senior Ryan Eddington, it is plausible that we could see five men of Trojan under 15:00.

It is a remote chance in any team better than Downers North, but Plainfield North is a squad that is a strong state trophy contender, and this meet will let them know where they fit in the puzzle. The Panthers will rely on the front-running talents of

Oak Park-River Forest ran well at the Richard Spring Invite on 9/16 and dropped below expectations at the Palatine Meet of Champions. It will be interesting to see how the Huskies pack will establish themselves. They usually like hot paces and then hold on for dear life.

Naperville Central, Neuqua Valley, and Lyons have competed admirably in this meet. They will battle for a top-five placement, Glenbard West, Yorkville, and Lane Tech.

The race to the tape will see a new face as last year's winner, Liam Newhart, has moved on. Nicholas Strayer (Sr., Lyons) and  Zac Close (Sr., Neuqua Valley) took third and fifth respectively last year. Add in newcomer Aden Bandukwala (Sr., Hinsdale Central), Will Kozlowski (Sr., Chicago Lane), and several others; it could be one of the best surprises in quite a while.

Girls-
Teams: #3 Downers Grove North, #5 Naperville North, #7 Yorkville, #8 Naperville Central, #9 Batavia, #10 Minooka, #12 Lyons, #16 Glenbard West, #18 Wheaton South, #22 Metea Valley, #23 Plainfield North, Downers South, Lane Tech, Waubonsie Valley, Hononegah, OPRF, Geneva
Outlook: This is a deep meet and could present more of a challenge for the ranked teams vs. the boys. The Huskies need to show they are ready to challenge for a state trophy. They get to battle Downers North, who has tasted the #1 spot for several weeks this season. Aside from having frontrunners, it could come down to pack play for the winner.

Individually, it could be Mia Kotler (Jr., Latin) vs. Liv Phillips (Sr., Naperville Central). Kotler won earlier in the season at Hinsdale Central. After them, it's anyone's race.
