The holiday break is finally over and that typically means the start of collegiate track and field. Early January meets usually are evaluation periods for emerging student-athletes. Occasionally, the coaching staff will unleash some of their best athletes to see where their training and fitness stack up.
Very recently in Chicago at the Dr. Conrad Worrill Track & Field Center, the University of Wisconsin-Madison hosted a small but powerful meet that featured the University of Illinois, Purdue University, Southern Illinois University, UW-Milwaukee, and San Diego State.
Several top performances were noted from former area athletes who returned to their former base.
