-Girls: #2 Prospect IL turned out the party in a big way by completing demolishing a great field which included many great teams from the Hoosier state like US#25 Columbus North. The Knights also topped tough teams from Ohio and Kentucky with a whopping score of 34 points. All five scorers were within the top 15 that averaged 17:53 for 5K on the tough LaVern Gibson course. Senior Hailey Erickson led the way with a fifth place finish in 17:41. The overall winner was Ciara O'Shea (Sr., Madison Central KY) in a masterful and meet record 16:52.
The boys race was just as thrilling as US#4 Jesuit of New Orleans upset #3 Carmel on its own turf 97-106. The Greyhounds Kole Mathison (Sr) won the race outright in 14:51 which is a meet record and almost an all-time course record.
US#6 Plainfield South held its own as well in its first tilt vs a national quality field. The Cougars took third on the strength of Camyn Viger (Jr) who placed 8th in 15:05. The rest of the lot total 140 points with the scorers among the top 40.

-Dylon Nalley (Jr., Marion) was the story here despite running the smaller class race (1A/2A). He went out at 4:28 and 9:17 for the first two-mile splits. He ran into a little trouble in the back loop with traffic that slowed him up. He was still able to run 14:03 and produce a long-standing meet record. It is also the state's top time at the three-mile distance.
