It was a slugfest down at the First of The Finish Invitational over the week. Be sure to check out the week 3 boys nominees and vote below.

===========

Camyn Viger (Jr., Plainfield South)- took a big leap toward securing himself as one to watch for the 3A state title which is still several months away. Viger ran an impressive 14:22 to win the 3A Boys division at the First of The Finish Invitational. In it, he beat the state's top returner by time Riley Newport (Sr., Dekalb) by 14 seconds.

Tommy Nitz (So., Huntley)- He was able to overcome a bit of nerves to win the Lake Park Harvey Braus Invitational in 15:10. Nitz will be someone to watch down the road.

Marcellus Mines (Jr., Joliet West)- Stays undefeated with a home win at the Joliet Steelman Invitational in 15:06.

Cooper Marrs (Jr., Riverside-Brookfield)- Took the 2A boys title at the FTTF Invitational in 14:54. Marrs was the only runner to break 15:00 in his division.

Dylon Nalley (Jr., Marion)- Traveled across the Mississippi River to St. Louis and competed in the Forest Park XC Festival 5K. Missouri has some real nasty courses (hills upon hills and tough terrain). Nalley navigated it in a new layout record 15:29. He beat one of the state's top runners Tyler Harris of Kickapoo MO by a significant margin.
