The 2020 Shazam XC Championships provided some needed relief and action for many of the state's talented runners
Despite a worldwide pandemic that affected our everyday lives including high school sporting events. The 2020-21 calendar year presented many challenges. Amid the challenges were many outstanding performances and tremendous character built by the Illinois running community. We saw emerging athletes step up to become stars. Drew Rogers, Micah Wilson, and others showed the nation that the best is yet to come.
In determining the preseason top 25 runners, we look at the 2020 season, Shazam XC Championship performances, and track & field season. Of course, these rankings are of subjective nature so there is a human element to them which makes great discussion!
