2021 MileSplit IL Power Rankings: Week 6

3A Girls

8. Evanston
The narrative: Conference week for many didn't turn out according to plan, we can thank Mother Nature for that. On the bright side, the state series is here, temperatures appear to be favorable (wind may vary), and teams can not hide their lineups anymore.

Heading into sectionals Grayslake Central has regained the top status they desired. Julia Reglewski will handle the chores in the field with the throws. Teammate Bella Domier is versatile and can run a number of races (up to four if need be).

Naperville North actually had a strong conference winning showing this past week, the rise in the rankings show. We know about the pain the Huskies distance crew can put on the field, but look for assistance from the likes of Madeline AndelbradtMaeve Conneely, and Mackenzie Skeen in hurdles and field events to possibly boost their title chances.

Lincoln-Way East moved down, but they are not out. With veterans Katie Sciarini and Mariam Azeez the Griffins are a threat.

Whitney Young was idle after winning their conference title which means the Dolphins are rested, we shall see on Wednesday how things play out.

Prairie Ridge could vie for a trophy in less than two weeks but they will rely heavily on the legs of super sophomore Rylee Lydon, who recently dropped a state-leading time in the 200m. The fun begins, survive and advance then we'll see you all in Charleston.
