Anna Perry is a name that you will not forget anytime soon.
In Class A jargon, the name Eureka is synonymous with distance running. Of course, the boys cross country team has won numerous state trophies including two state championships. On the girls' side of the game, there has been a solid amount of success. The Hornets have 15 top 10 finishes that include a state title in 2018. Head Coach Olivia Morris (formerly Klaus) was a state champion miler in her day, but she also coached some pretty good talent such as the 2018 1A harrier state champion Emma Argo.
Now here comes Anna Perry. The junior from Eureka has been tearing up the scene, running to a nearly undefeated season (only loss to Aly Ince of Normal). At the Metamora Invite, Perry ran a marvelous race against Ince pulling out the late win at Black Partridge Park 17:22.3. Perry replaced the super freshman Ince who coveted the award from the previous week.
Congrats to Anna for winning the week #7 award!
