Keep Kaylee Pannek In Your Thoughts and Prayers

The Southwest Suburban Conference (SWSC) Pre Conference Girls Meet on August 27th at Lockport High School served as the first opportunity to compete in this new look cross country season for its teams.

In an era of uncertainty due to COVID-19, to be able to compete was likely a joyous occasion for many of the runners that toed the line that day. Unfortunately, that joy turned into sadness two mornings later as coaches, athletes, and friends began to hear the news that Bolingbrook HS talented junior runner Kaylee Pannek was involved in an accident while riding her bike. According to head coach John Sullivan, Kaylee was struck by a vehicle sustaining multiple fractures and a shattered pelvis.

As of August 29th, she is in stable condition and sedated in the intensive care unit, at the time of this article draft- an update from the family has not been shared publicly. A friend of Kaylee's mother started a GoFund Me page to offer financial support to the family. The Milesplit Team offers our thoughts and prayers to the Bolingbrook community and the Pannek family.
