2020 Class 2A Girls Field Events Pre-Season Preview

High Jump-
2019 State Champion: Diamonasia Taylor (Sr., Urbana), 5'11"
Key Athletes: Taylor, Carly Tucker (Sr., Metamora), Maddie Andelbradt (So., Wheaton St. Francis), Hannah Sechrest (Jr., East Alton Wood-River), Kaci Papin (So., Hillsboro), Lynleigh Schram (Rockford [Alleman Catholic])
Breakdown: The star attraction here is three-time defending state champion and 2A state record holder Diamonasia Taylor. Only two girls in state history have won four straight high jump titles (Nicole Williams and Jena Hemann), Taylor seeks to become the third. With the fourth-best mark returning nationally, some may say its a safe bet that she gets it done, but how high can she get up? Is the all-time record (6'0) in jeopardy?

Carly Tucker, last year's silver medalist, looks to creep up on Taylor if she has any mishaps. Her personal best of 5'8 is nothing to frown at, can she challenge the 5'10 mark?

Two other state medalists return in Maddie Andelbradt and Hannah Sechrest, they look to improve their standing on the podium. Who will emerge in 2020?
