Opening Thoughts:
The Southwest Prairie Conference has been one of the toughest conferences in Illinois for some time now. It has seen many memorable performances, like when Soren Knudsen broke 15 minutes in his last race on his home course in 2016. Let's not forget the amazing showdown between Christian Knowlton, Omar Paramo, and Matt Blanco in 2017, or the battle between Knudsen, John Partee, and Bennett Peterson two years prior. On the girl's side, Ashley Tutt, formerly of Minooka, dominated the race and set a new course record at Hammel Woods in 2015. This year surely will not disappoint.
