Katelynne Hart has proven to be the best in Illinois since her inception in 2016
So who is going to challenge Ms. Hart for the title? She has been undefeated against Illinois competition since her initial invitational race back in September 2016. Hart is a top 5 national list player and it is going to take an all-time in order to defeat her. Enyaeva Michelin (Sr., Evanston) faced off last weekend at Lake Park and ran well for two miles. The torrid pace went out in 5:13 and it was just too much for Michelin. The all-time record is 15:53.8 by Judy Pendergast of Naperville North. There is a chance the record could fall but the weather is suppose to play a negative part sometime with light rain throughout the morning. Let's hope that it will subside quickly.
Lindsey Payne, Emily Shelton, Sarah Schmitt, Alex Morris, Alyssa Edwards, Madison Marasco (Schaumburg), and Jocelyn Long (Barrington) are all factors in the game.
