-Roselle (Lake Park High) was the scene of a tough sectional. But it was still an open and shut case for #5 Wheaton-Warrenville South who almost matched #7 Glenbard West's three-girl attack. After neutralizing Katelynne Hart (So.), Lindsey Payne (Sr.), and Katie Hohe (So.) it was a wrap for the Lady Tigers who were led by Samantha Poglitsch. The talented freshman ran down Maine South's Olivia Niziolek (Sr.) in the final meters to take 4th overall. The episode would spark a scoring pack behind Poglitsch that produced a very solid 55-second stop gap which resulted in the net score of 55 points. More impressively was the 2-5 split of 18 seconds and 2-7 at 27 seconds just in case depth and strength needed to be called in.... although the sectional was not as deep in past years, it was still a strong one. Glenbard West needed every bit of manpower in holding off #17 New Trier 73-79 for second and third place. New Trier does not have a true front runner this season, but instead they are a very strong team as the 11-second split asserts... #16 York was led by Sarah May (Jr.) in 8th place. She helped ignite her Lady Dukes to a 4th place finish ahead of Maine South, who nabbed the final berth to state.
